PASC Academic Success Coaching

The Peer Academic Success Coaching program provides academic support to incoming freshmen, supports PASC learning community participants, and provides professional and leadership development opportunities for ECU upperclassmen. The Peer Academic Success Coaching program matches ECU upperclassmen with ECU undergraduate students and provides academic coaching, study skills support, and priority tutoring for mentees. During weekly sessions, academic success coaches assist freshmen mentees with transitioning from high school to college life, strengthening academic study skills, developing effective study habits, learning to use graphic organizers, fostering connections to academic resources and effectively managing time.

Who are the Academic Success Coaches?

Academic Success Coaches are upperclassmen that have a passion for helping their peers succeed!  They come from all walks of life and have served in various organizations such as the military, ECU Ambassadors, Greek Life, or have tutored for the PASC.  They are required to participate in the College Reading and Learning Association’s International Mentor Training Program (IMTPC).  Academic Success Coaches meet during the year to cover CRLA Peer Mentoring Training Topics.  These training sessions equip them with the knowledge and skills to assist incoming freshmen.
